For all its quirks and faults and stuff, I think Tumblr is one of the most accepting, equality-promoting websites I’ve ever seen.
This is how I see it.
I see how gay shippings are treated just like straight shippings. And how most of the fanfic I’ve read about slash OTPs have nothing to do with overcoming discrimination about sexuality; homosexuality is treated as normal in the fictional world, just as it is the real-life fan world.
I see how men are just as much subject to objectification on Tumblr as women are, whereas in normal society I see far more sexualization and degradation of women.
At the same time, I see how both men and women (fictional or not) are also equally vindicated for their personalities and actions. Think of Jennifer Lawrence and Tom Hiddleston - boh adored for their appearance (we are human after all) and their personalities.
On Facebook, I see how people normally overanalyze what status to post and who to friend and whether to like someone’s post on Facebook. On Twitter, I see how they fuss over what tweet to make or who to follow.
Then I see on Tumblr how I can post what I want and people won’t merely tolerate what I post; they’ll like it and reblog it freely, no hesitation.

I’m primarily into Legend of Korra, Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, and Full Metal Alchemist. Lord of the Rings is my favorite, so prepare yourself, Middle Earthlings.
I also like Doctor Who, Castle, The Avengers, Monty Python, Maximum Ride, and Disney movies.
What is with all your random-ass “musings”?
For the fandoms I truly follow and immerse myself in (LOK, LOTR, FMA), I like to ponder larger questions about them and analyze the characters and themes with them. One of the things I love about these works is how deep they go if you really try to think about it.
